Comfort Foods Done Better?: Hot Cocoa & Peppermint Whipped Cream

There is nothing better than waking up on a chilly morning and warming up with a chocolaty cup of hot cocoa topped with peppermint whipped cream!  This is completely gluten free and all natural/organic!






Hot Cocoa
Ingredient List
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 3/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
Directions
  1. Place all ingredients into a sauce pan, bring to a gentle boil while stirring.
  2. Remove from heat and pour hot cocoa into your favorite mugs
  3. Makes 4 oz servings.
Peppermint Whipped Cream
Ingredient List
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tbs peppermint extract
  • 1tsp sugar
Directions
  1. Beat cream until thick.
  2. Add peppermint and sugar.
  3. Fold into cream.
  4. Dollop on top of hot cocoa and enjoy!
